Hi mamas! I can state for all of us – our bodies changed after we had babies. If you bounced back to your “before baby body” right away, then you’re one of the lucky few! But I’m here to say that it’s OK and completely NORMAL to not have your “before baby body” back right away, if EVER. Our bodies did an amazing thing, and from that, we gained a beautiful baby.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t know what my life was like before I had Jack. I don’t even think I had a life. Kidding, but you get the idea. I was a young girl and unaware of my own body. After having him, I realized I don’t want to go back to that. I want to have confidence and feel sexy in my body how it is now, because I had a freaking baby! So with all of that said, and if you’re still with me, I’ll tell you about this 12 week program that I am doing and I hope you will follow along weekly, and maybe try it out for yourself!
I am starting my 12 Weeks on Monday July 24th and I hope you all will start it with me! What better way than the present? I also think we can all hold one another accountable, because it’s hard to workout alone!
I was doing research and wondering why even though I’m eating healthy, and trying to workout the same as I used to, I wasn’t exactly gaining strength (especially in my core), I was still having back pain at the end of the day, and I still looked a little, well, pregnant.
That’s when I came across the term diastasis recti. Diastasis recti basically means your belly sticks out because the space between your left and right belly muscles has widened. You might call it a “pooch.” “Diastasis” means separation. “Recti” refers to your ab muscles called the “rectus abdominis.” It can cause lower back pain, constipation, and urine leaking. So if you think your leaking is normal after having a baby, think again! It happens to the best of us, but it’s something that is fixable (And kegels don’t always solve the problem). To watch a video on Diastasis Recti and see how to do a self-check, click here.
When I found out that doing crunches, abs, planks, pilates, running, etc, was actually harming my body instead of doing it any good, I immediately stopped. I had NO idea what workouts to do or what breathing exercises to practice. I basically was at a stand-still because I didn’t want to further damage my body.
That’s when I came across MuTu System. Like the website states, MuTu System is for women who want their bodies to look, feel and function better after having a baby. Whether you had your baby 6 weeks ago or 6 years ago or more.
Below are my before photos. I feel super vulnerable in having these taken, nevertheless on my BLOG, but here I am, being vulnerable so you can too. I have no shame in the way I look, but I wanted to bring awareness of diastasis recti to all of you mamas, because I had no idea what it was until a couple of weeks ago. If I wasn’t bored and discouraged with my body and the workouts I was doing, then I wouldn’t have gotten on the internet and done research. So whether or not you guys have heard of this before, I encourage you to do the program along with me! You can purchase the program here and if/when you do, send me a DM on Instagram, tag me in a post on your social media page, or message me on here to let me know we are in this together!
