So I have been MIA for awhile now… almost 14 weeks to be exact. But you know what that means?
We are so excited to announce this and cannot wait to meet baby A!
This was our pregnancy announcement:
Now down to the nitty gritty..
The first trimester was pretty rough. I started feeling sick around week 6. I guess I was fortunate it didn’t start sooner, but knowing I potentially had 6 more weeks of how I was feeling.. to say I was worried was an understatement. I took each day as it came, hoping to wake up and magically feel better, but that day didn’t come! I had to take off work for a month, and was basically couch-ridden for the entire time. Tony was so sweet during the whole process and would make all of my “meals”. Meals being toast, toast, and more toast. I could stomach only breads at this time, so I lived off of toast, bagels, and crackers. I slowly incorporated fresh fruit, particularly strawberries, pb&j sandwiches, pop-tarts, and then toaster strudels.
I dreamed of the day I would crave a meal. Or anything for that matter. The doctor prescribed me some nausea medicine after sitting on the couch for 2 weeks, and I will never forget my “first” meal. Chick-fil-A! It actually tasted good. Slowly but surely I started feeling better, weaning off the meds. Now at 14 weeks, I still feel a little nauseous throughout the day, mostly before dinner time, but it is definitely more tolerable that it was before.
Anyway, I’m hoping if any of you are trying to get pregnant, that the nausea doesn’t happen! Everything turned around when we saw baby for the first time at 10 weeks on the ultrasound.
We were so elated and couldn’t stop smiling! To see your baby for the first time is a magical experience, one we will never forget. Having been sick for weeks already, no baby bump to show for the sickness, it was simply a miracle to see what was causing all of the ruckus. 🙂 The heartbeat was pretty amazing as well.
Next came 12 week picture time.
I still wasn’t (and still am not) showing, so I cannot wait to see the difference as the weeks go on!
And here we are, at week 14!
I hope to stay more active on here now that I am not living on the couch!
Thanks for reading!
